BP #5 Attendence

San Antonio is full of culture and diversity. The city represents Texas’s true culture especially while using the Mexican roots, and probably one of the original cities that created the Tex-Mex food and other stuff it brings to the Tejano culture.  All around the San Antonio community you see families own  Jalisco’s and they are always jam-packed inside and out. Ready for you at five am with the freshly pressed tortillas and your favorite taco fillings. Jaliscos all around San Antonio and is a staple to the breakfast seane down in San antonio. Maybe not just jalisco's but many little hidden gems all across san antonio and the south texas areas keeps the culture thriving all across texas. The nice weather brings festivals with parades and that brings out the local food vendors who serve the community that comes out to theses like NIOSA(Night in Old San Antonio) and others alike that serve all kinds of food and drinks especially those with a sweet tooth will love. This also brin...

Blog post #4- Research Project ENG 121 Richard Flores

The few things that pop up in my head when thinking of a research project and what my topic on the paper will be are two main ideas. My interest and what I already know but want to learn more about. And I also think of what idea will be best for me and for the outcome of my paper.  In general, I could talk about football and everything that involves the sport and what makes the sport as great as it is. But then I start to think of topics I’m interested in like stuff back home like breakfast tacos or H-E-B and everything in between. But with football, I think it is gonna be my best bet as I have options and can get others’ opinions on a topic of football I choose to work on for the project. As with football can talk about the evolution of football from rules, technology, the field, and even how the game can be played to even the change of physical features of the  players. As just in the last 10 years the NFL and other football organizations have revolutionize...

Blog post #3 - Notes Richard Flores ENG 121

Notes   Between the YMCA and weight room for student-athletes at Waldorf facilities. YMCA has an open free range to all gym goers who sometimes have nothing planned for the next hour or hour and a half of them being there the go through a helpless workout or use all the workout machines. A lot of the time this is seen by “Ego lifters'' who I've personally encountered at the forest city local YMCA and even back home in Texas but this person does as much weight that's on a machine or stacks plates on a bar and does mediocre reps to fuel his ego for usually “his” ego.  As in a professional collegiate viewpoint from a strength coach for a college program frown apon these kinda things because you will see no progress from it and it's a great way to get very hurt. Environment differences  YMCA- Everyone to them selfs and doing their own thing. And usually, you are seeing people come and go as they please and work out at their own pace. It's quiet with no music as peop...

Blog post #2 Richard Flores The concepts of education ENG 121

With Freire's argument I agree with his education views as he sees education as a practice of freedom and should be welcomed by all. The ‘banking' concept of education can be useful though only in the right teachings. As I feel if the information is too complicated and tactical where it's best for the students to better understand the information my just sitting and taking it all in would be best for them to actually get the information being given to them then that's where I would see that is okay to use the banking concepts of education. But like for examples where there is places where they have strict hold on education and everything surrounding it is so important to the cultures there is no one to tell them it is bad to use the banking concept of education  causes to their culture it is the higher up know everything regardless if they do or not they are healed themselves up to that standards so everyone under them sees that and just auto mactilly ...

Blog post #1 Richard Flores ENG 121

My experience with research has always been a rollercoaster with ups downs and everything in between. At times research could be difficult trying to find a reliable source to seek information to help you with assignments but when you do find that source that has everything you are looking for can have so much relief knowing everything you are reading is valid. Research has always been interesting to me to be able to learn stuff that I probably wouldn’t have even come across in life without researching it. I’ve learned to seek trusted websites with valid information when trying to find good information on topics. I’ve learned lots of world history since last semester. All we did were research projects that made you look and read up on information that gave you an idea of what was happening during that time period. Researching this helped me realize the time frame of history and how it really wasn’t that long ago from today. Researching online can be much of a relief. The more I res...

Blogoist #6 Richard Flores ENG 120

In the movie, Chainsaw massacre the producer used a lot of foreshadowing in the movie to show the soon demise of the group of the protagonists. As one of the visuals shows a nail through a clock to show that time is up as the protagonist is walking up to Leather Face’s home. Another little cut seen shown as they are walking up are city cars stashed away or hidden on the side of the house and since the cars were stereotypically used by hippie people and the protagonists are hippies as you can tell by the way they are dressed. Another little easter egg in the movie is when they first pull up to the gas station to get gas, you can see a sign on the door of the gas station with the words of “Going fishing? (worms)” as if the gas station is bait for the people who are strained and looking for help. And even at the end of the movie Sally goes to the gas station while being chased by a leather face and runs into it thinking she was gonna be safe from the killer. But in realit...

Blog post #4 Richard Flores ENG 120

For the review form, I picked Rotten Tomatoes is one of the world’s trusted recommendation resources for quality entertainment that gives reviews and ratings on movies and TV shows.  As I was looking at the page for the television show Money heist the page starts with the cover picture and right next to it is their own rating system called Tomatometer and another rating with the average audience score that’s a percentage of people who rated the show or movie 3.5 out of 5.  And right under is a description of the series info with the series creator and the people starring in the show. Also, the series details the television network, premier date, and genre of the show. Below that they give a few recommendations of other shows that are similar to that show that the audience might like. And then it gives you all the seasons of the show with a click more button. When you pick a season it gives you a few details of each episode to know what’s happening in them and under th...
