Blog post #3 Review of Tom's Burger Blog - Richard Flores ENG 120

While searching for blogs to use I came across this one blog called Tom’s Burger Blog, a simple blogger who visits 2 or more burger joints a month and writes up a review on their best burger on the menu. All burger joints are based in California and some surrounding areas on the west coast. His reviews start with usually two to three paragraphs stating how he heard or found the joint. The style of writing is mostly laid back type as well as informative as he adds good information. Also states the facts or history of the burger or the restaurant he is visiting. And some of the burger joints he visits he describes the wait time and how many people were already waiting in the restaurant's line as some are only pop-up sells or really popular in the area. He also adds pictures of the burger as that's when he starts his own metric burger grading system.

For his system in grading the burger, I'm most impressed with it as he breaks down the whole burger. He uses multiple categories to rank the burger such as the overall appearance of the burger, bun, meat, cheese, vegetables, sauces, messiness, burgerness ( quality that separates great burgers from excellent culinary experiences). He states that 5 point scales are too limiting and works those five tires into a 100 point scale. And after giving out all his points he gives them a final score with the price of the burger and the address to the restaurant. Another thing that I thought was cool he added on his blog website was a “burgerdex” showing a list of all the burger restaurants scores which I thought was very useful.
